Design
We can start from 3D CAD machine concept images or Plant PIDs – (Process Instrumentation Diagrams) to envisage the necessary control equipment and philosophy for automating future operational system.
Do you have an idea that could transform your business? Or do you need a control system partner to bring your mechanical concept to life?
We love to solve a challenge and we will listen to your vision, creating a viable, costed design ready for prototyping or manufacture.
As an external design team we can listen to your ideas and issues, collaborate with your team, document and agree on a performance specification, and engineer a solution that will consistently deliver the desired results. Listening to feedback, we can adapt and make changes to the design until the ideal concept is crafted and ready for manufacture.
Types of design work we do
Electrical, Control and Instrumentation – System Development
Understanding your process and plant requirements is key to specifying the instrumentation and control hardware required to effectively monitor and control your machine or processes. Our experience across many industries enables us to bring a unique perspective to the specification of the optimum instrumentation as well as the control actuating devices which underpin the successful design and manufacture of complete and fully integrated solutions.
Electrical Control Circuit and Layout Design
From simple relay and contactor circuits to complex programmable logic controllers (PLC), our experience and product development capability will ensure your hardware design meets international standards for best practice and compliance with appropriate legislation, without unnecessary cost. Additionally, having worked in some of the most extreme environments and with some of the toughest regulatory requirements, we can tailor a solution suitable for almost any environment you require.
Operator Control Panels
Providing an appropriate interface between the human beings who operate the plant, and the machinery is critical to the success of any automation project. At Finesse, we understand different applications, different environments and different personnel or business cultures need their own unique solutions. Customers can have a choice from very traditional tactile push buttons, switches, leavers, and similar manual controls or can opt to varying degrees to utilise high tech solutions such as graphical computer screen-based HMI (Human Machine Interface)
Software Development
As Siemens Solution Partners, we have software engineers trained and validated by Siemens in the integration of efficient software solutions for their PLC, HMI & SCADA products. Our experience of applying these skills in development of software for many different applications means it is unlikely you have an application which is not building on principals we have applied elsewhere. These skills are generally transferable, so our engineering team have been able to apply them equally to multiple different brands of control systems as required by different customers.
Power Distribution & Motor Control Centres (MCC)
We can design and supply suitably IP rated low voltage switchboards with a range of busbar systems in Panel Forms 1 to 4. These range from compact wall mounted units to larger free standing or floor mounted units with single or multiple incomers. Our designs as generally are bespoke and to client specification. Our experience covers systems of up to three phase 690VAC with 2000A busbars.
Mechanical Integration & Robotics – Machine Design
We can integrate complete machines for small industrial automation applications, such as repetitive manufacturing processes, testing equipment conveyors and material handling systems. Including sourcing and configuring robots to integrate with existing and new automated plant.

How it works
1
Initial meeting to discuss your idea/requirement
Let’s figure out what you need and when you need it by.
2
Internal research and brainstorming
We will get together internally and draw up a plan of action and accurate costings.
3
Initial concepts drawn out ready for feedback
This is your chance to give feedback and make any changes required.
4
Final design produced
We are ready to move to manufacturing – either by ourselves or another supplier.
5
Optional desktop prototype built
We can create a mini version of your design to ensure it looks and works as you need it to.
Once you have approved the design and are ready to make it a reality, our manufacturing team can bring it to life ready to be deployed in your business.
